KAMPALA YOUTH RECOVERY FOUNDATION LTD is registered as a limited Company without share capital under section 18(3) of the Companies Act 2012. The promoters of this organisation, aware of the problem of alcohol and drug abuse facing our youth in Kampala, and indeed the whole country, and committed to make a contribution to the society by joining other actors to deal with this challenge, registered the organisation as an indigenous NGO to provide services to sustainably deal with alcohol/ substance challenges in Kampala and the surrounding areas and to provide vocational skills to recovering people with substance use disorders and ex-convicts to increase their opportunities for formal and non-formal employment.

Alcohol and drug abuse is one of the biggest challenges facing the youth in Uganda today. The majority of patients admitted to Butabika National Referral Mental Hospital in Kampala are university and high school students suffering from alcohol and drug abuse and the number is increasing every day.
